The students of Modern High School for Girls participated in the Winter Design Bootcamp held in the school premises and organized by ISDI School of Design and Innovation. The 3-day camp held over the long weekend was indeed a landmark event for students to think, evaluate and brave a career in the relatively lesser- known field of Design. People in Kolkata are surrounded by designs and revel in it and appreciate it through many channels. It is mostly taken for granted as a hobby or fine art but seldom as a productive and secure career path. The camp was designed to give the students from 11 schools across the city a sneak peak into career opportunities in the world of designing. The camp is sure to influence and change the prevalent perceptions. Students on the brink of deciding on a career will certainly look at Designing seriously and favorably, as will the future batches.
