Editor and translator Nadia Imam conducted a storytelling session with the children of Class 7 of Modern High School for Girls on 16th January, 2025. The session centered around the book 'Once Upon the Queens Gender-Upturned Tales from Bengal' which she has translated. The book masterfully reimagines timeless tales from Bengal turning classic narratives on their heads to highlight the strength, resilience, and agency of female protagonists. The children had a wonderful time reimagining the folktales they had grown up reading and listening to and pointing out the gender disparity prevalent in these stories.
