The Skylab members of Modern High School for Girls visited Kalimpong for their annual trip from 16th to 18th December,2023 for a celestial adventure. With the guidance of Mr. S Bhadra and his colleague from Skywatchers Association, Dhakuria, students engaged in awe-inspiring stargazing sessions, fostering a deep appreciation for astronomy. Under the night sky, participants engaged in spotting and identifying various constellations, star clusters and planets through telescopes. The highlight of the trip was the hands-on learning of the techniques of assembling and aligning of telescopes. This practical experience not only enhanced the students’ understanding of telescopic instruments but also instilled a sense of curiosity about the cosmos. Kalimpong's serene atmosphere provided an ideal backdrop for exploring celestial wonders, broadening student's astronomical knowledge and sparking a lasting interest in the mysteries of the universe.
