On 28th June, 2024 the eight Houses of Modern High School for Girls fought a war of words during the Preliminary round of the Inter House Debates following the Oxford style of debate. Four houses debated whether films should be made to escape reality and the other four argued whether there is any need for newspapers now that we have television and the Internet. Rose and Lotus house qualified for the final, held on 19th July, 2024. The motion was, “This house believes that juveniles should be tried and treated as adults.” The day’s proceedings followed the Asian parliamentary format of debating. Lotus was declared the winner by guest judges, Moyuree Mukherjee and Shourya Samanta.
