On 4th December, 2024 CLEAN Club members of Modern High School for Girls learned how to identify and name various species found within the school environment, emphasizing the importance of understanding biodiversity and taxonomy. Dr A P Das (HOD Botany Dept, North Bengal University) in Association with WWF was the Resource Person. The students  learnt different  observation techniques to distinguish species based on their physical traits, behaviors, and habitats. Practical activities reinforced these skills, allowing them to document and classify local flora and fauna while deepening their appreciation for the interconnectedness of ecosystems. The session highlighted the value of accurate species identification in fostering environmental awareness.
