The Class 8 students of Modern High School for Girls went on an academic trip to Chandernagore on 7th November, 2022.   Although Chandernagore had been a French colony for around 275 years, its heritage is not restricted to the French architecture that abounds there.   During the trip the children visited the Mahas Rath Temple, the Sacred Heart Church as well as the Danish Church.   They explored the Indo French Cultural Centre Museum and the extensive boulevard on the banks of the Hoogly. The trip concluded with a delicious lunch at the Denmark Tavern.   It was a journey which threw light upon the rich amalgamation of cultures that India boasts of due to its colonial past.  History came alive for the children and it turned out to be an enjoyable and memorable trip.
