Vijaya Mukherjee (Class of 1964) was felicitated by MHS in 2010 as a distinguished alum for her outstanding contribution in social and philanthropic work.

Her main work and passion was in an organisation called 'Hitaishini', the only Breast Cancer Support Network in Eastern India, run by breast cancer survivors and socially committed women.

Vijaya had joined MHS in 1954 and was 'Head Girl ' of the school in 1964.
