Visit to Victoria Memorial Hall


A few students of Class 5 visited the Victoria Memorial Hall on Saturday 01st July to participate in a ‘Treasure Hunt’ at the Calcutta Gallery. The students got involved in a fun filled mystery hunt, where they roamed the gallery for clues. 45 minutes later they emerged, not only having learnt a great deal about their city, but having thoroughly enjoyed themselves. "On the Right Trail" was certainly worth a visit!


Class 3 Skype Activity


On Thursday morning, 30 August, our students of Class 3 had an interactive session on the Skype with Class 3 students of JG International School, Ahmedabad. It was an enriching experience for both the schools. The students of JG International asked questions about West Bengal which our students answered and explained with interesting aids and props. It was an exciting session of exchange of information between the two schools. The words of a class III student ‘what an awesome time we had’ indeed describes how much the girls enjoyed the Skype interaction.


Inter School Swimming


Students of the Junior Department participated in the Interschool Aquatic meet organised by Mahadevi Birla World Academy on the 5th and 6th of July 2017.

Parthana Rai of class 5A won gold medals in both Butterfly and Freestyle and a silver one in Backstroke. 
Aishani Sarkar of class 5D won a gold medal in Backstroke and silvers in both Butterfly and Freestyle.

The relay team --Prarthana Rai 5A, Aishani Sarkar 5D, Saanvi Fatepuria 5C, and Tanisha Das 4D won the gold medal. 
They were the Overall Champions in the Junior Level category. 

 


Independence Day


The students of the Junior Dept. celebrated Independence Day by focusing on PEACE. Highlighting Gandhiji's philosophy, they also touched on eminent personalities whom he influenced, like the Dalai Lama, Nelson Mandela and even Albert Einstein and John Lennon.

Let us hope this message spreads not just to all corners of our country but also resounds around the world.

 


Tell a Tale


An inter school story telling competition ‘Tell a Tale’ was organised by National High School CBSE Primary.

Department on 26.07.2017 at Uttam Manch.

There were 20 schools participating including Modern High School for Girls.

The Best Story Award was won by Piyushi Jha of Class 4 B.

 


World Music Day(Junior)


This year World Music Day celebrations were to make the children aware of different musical instruments like percussion,string and wind,.

They enjoyed playing percussion instruments and beat to songs that were played. They even improvised rhythm instruments like shakers using marbles/buttons/beads etc inside decorated tins to prepare for this special day.

The junior girls spoke about the various musical instruments, sang songs and even played instruments, like the violin.
