A Sociology Masterclass was organised on 12th May, 2026 for the students of Modern High School for Girls. The resource person was Dr. Sreyasi Chatterjee, an Assistant Professor and Convenor, Incubation Centre and Gender Equity Cell, Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis Mahavidyalaya. The topic on discussion was ‘Religion, Morality and Social Control’.
To beat the heat this summer, the children of Lower KG enjoyed a fun-filled Summer Cooler Activity in class on 14 May 2026, where they made their very own summer cooler drink to beat the heat.
The activity gave the little ones a hands-on learning experience as they mixed the ingredients to prepare a refreshing glass of summer cooler drink. Through this enjoyable session, the children learnt the importance of using the right quantity of ingredients to achieve the perfect taste.The little ones relished every sip of it.
Adding a special touch to the activity, the children also offered the refreshing drink to the didis and bhaiyas in the school, expressing gratitude and kindness towards the people who help and care for them everyday.
Rabindra Jayanti was celebrated with great joy on 8 May 2026 in Lower KG. The little ones happily wore the beautiful wristbands they had created during their Art and Craft class and participated enthusiastically in singing and dancing to Rabindra Sangeet. The celebration was filled with music, creativity, and festive spirit, making it a memorable experience for all.
The students of Upper KG recited Rabindranath Tagore’s poem The Palm Tree with great enthusiasm and expression. Adorned with palm tree headgears crafted by themselves, the children performed with confidence and joy. Their presentation showcased creativity, teamwork, and active participation, making it truly delightful to watch.
The students of Class 1 celebrated Rabindra Jayanti on 14 May 2026 with great joy and enthusiasm. Through recitations, songs, and dance performances, the children paid tribute to the timeless works of Rabindranath Tagore. They performed with confidence and spirit, making the programme truly delightful. The celebration, presented in coordination with the Upper KG and Class 2 students, was thoroughly enjoyed by both the participants and the audience.
On 14 May 2026, the Class 2 students joyfully celebrated Rabindra Jayanti. The air was filled with beautiful melodies of songs like ‘Kothao Amar Hariye Jawar Nei Mana’, ‘Khoro Bayu Boy Bege’,and ‘Esho He Boishakh’. The students also shared their creativity by reciting the enchanting Bengali poem ‘Sadh’.To add to the festivities, they performed a delightful Hindi skit about ‘Shantiniketan’, highlighting the wonderful contributions of nature and Tagore’s love for it. They danced to the tunes of ‘Aye tobe sohochori’. This celebration was not just an event; it was a vibrant expression of art and culture that inspired everyone involved.
Our school came alive with music, poetry and celebration on 14th May 2026 as the students of the Upper Primary Department celebrated Rabindra Jayanti with great enthusiasm. The students of Class 3 paid tribute to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore through lovely songs, graceful dances and thoughtful speeches.
Dressed in vibrant shades of white, yellow, green, and blue, the children looked cheerful and radiant. They spoke beautifully about Tagore’s childhood, his love for stories,and the timeless values reflected in his writings and ideas.
The hall was bright and lively, adorned with colourful handmade crafts created by the children themselves. Through Tagore’s songs and stories, the students explored the beauty of nature, love, freedom and humanity. The celebration left everyone with joyful hearts and a deep admiration for our beloved poet.
Students from Modern High School for Girls participated in ‘Jubilare 2026’, the Sri Shikshayatan School Annual Inter School Fest and emerged as the Second Runners Up in ‘Serve It Right’ and ‘Colour Splash’.
