Art Masterclass 2026

An Art Masterclass was organised for the Classes 11 & 12 students of Modern High School for Girls on 15th May, 2026. The resource person was Mr. Arnab Samaddar, Illustrator, Concept Artist and Character Designer. The topic of discussion was ‘Cartoon and Caricature’ and it was extremely engaging and informative. It offered students a lively platform to explore creativity and expression. They learned techniques to exaggerate features, convey emotions, and tell stories visually. The session enhanced observation skills, boosted confidence, and inspired students to experiment with humour and artistic styles in an engaging way.

Indian University Fair 2026

The Indian University Fair by Student Outreach was organised on 14th May, 2026 for the Class 12 students of Modern High School for Girls. The participating universities were:

I provided students with valuable exposure to diverse academic options and career pathways. It enabled direct interaction with university representatives, clarified admission processes, and built informed decision-making. Such fairs inspire goal-setting, reduce uncertainty, and empower students to plan their higher education with confidence and clarity.

Inter School Basketball Tournament 2026

The students of Modern High School for Girls participated in the Inter School Basketball Tournament 2026 organised by Women’s Basketball Association of West Bengal. The participating teams included the Under 14, 17 & 19 teams.
While the U14 & 17 teams qualified for the Semi Final, the U19 team emerged as the  Runners Up. Aarshia Gupta from U19 team was declared the Most Valuable Player.

Interhouse Throwball Competition 2026

The Interhouse Throwball Competition 2026 took place in the month of April and Rose House and Jasmine House qualified for the Finals. Jasmine emerged as the Champion House while the Runners Up position was secured by Rose House.

Career Fair 2026

A Career Fair was organized in Modern High School for Girls on 9th April, 2026 for students of Class 12. The participating Universities from US, UK and Netherland were:

Economics Masterclass 2026

An Economics Masterclass was organized on 21st April, 2026 for Classes 11 and 12 based on the topic Law of Variable Proportions. The Resource Person was Ms. Paramita Chakraborty, Assistant Professor of Shri Shikshayatan College.

Mit allen Sinnen durch Deutschland

The workshop series “Mit allen Sinnen durch Deutschland” (With All Senses Through Germany) was conducted at Goethe-Institut Kolkata on 8th May. 10 Students from class 5 and class 6 got the  opportunity to explore Germany in an interactive and playful way. Through interactive games, creative tasks, and hands-on activities, learners experienced German culture beyond the classroom and discovered Landeskunde (cultural studies)in a lively and meaningful manner.

The series combined language, culture, movement, music, and collaborative learning to create an immersive experience that appealed to all the senses. Participants explored aspects of everyday life, traditions, festivals, food, and cultural diversity in Germany while developing curiosity, creativity, and communication skills.

By making learning experiential and enjoyable, the workshop series encouraged students to connect with German language and culture in a dynamic and memorable way.

Interactive Empathy Session: Human – Emotions – Machines

On the 30th of April, 2026, 10 students of Modern High School for Girls had the pleasure of attending the Interactive Empathy Session at Goethe Institut Kolkata.
The workshop was conducted by digital artists Julia and Andrey Vrady. It delved deep into the intricacies of human emotions, the expression of self through facial display, and the development of technology to efficiently articulate between human emotions.
The workshop dealt primarily with how valuable human emotion is as a resource in a world where so much is inauthentic. The conversation ranged from the colours that one would associate with certain emotions— like how green is associated with disgust or red with anger, to what causes teenagers and young adults to feel negative emotions such as anger or stress.
The experience was truly enriching for the students as they got an opportunity to freely express their views and learn from their peers about technology that is currently being used all around them, and explore the german language outside the standard curriculum.

X-CELSIOR 2026

Students of Modern High School for Girls participated in X-CELSIOR 2026,the Annual Fest of St. Xavier’s Collegiate School on 24th and 25th April, 2026. They secured the First position in X Bounty (Representatives’ event), Second position in X Ecute (Competitive Coding) and Third position in X Tank (Shark Tank), X Graphica (Graph Art) and X Frame.

Earth Day 2026

The students of Classes 6 -12 of Modern High School for Girls celebrated Earth Day on 22nd April, 2026 with vibrant assemblies that beautifully blended creativity and awareness. The programmes featured engaging skits, soulful musical presentations, thoughtful recitations, and inspiring speeches, all centred on environmental conservation. Beyond performances, students showcased their innovation by crafting useful items from recyclable materials and everyday waste, highlighting the importance of reuse and sustainability. These displays not only reflected their artistic skills but also their growing sense of responsibility towards the planet. The celebration was a meaningful and joyful initiative, encouraging students to adopt eco-friendly habits and embrace more sustainable ways of living in their daily lives.
