X-Uberance 2026

Modern High School for Girls participated in X-Uberance 2026 from 10th to 12th July, 2026 and was declared as the Overall Best School. The students secured the First position in Basketball, Fashion Show, Football, Hindi Creative Writing and Puzzle Games. They came Second in Table Tennis, Ad Spoof  and Eastern Music. They emerged Third in Chess, Boardroom Crisis, Spray Painting and Cooking.

Celebration of Shri Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Jayanti

The celebration of Shri Shyamaprasad Mukherjee Jayanti on 6th July in Modern High School for Girls was a solemn and inspiring occasion. The programme began with a special assembly by students of Class 12 where students highlighted his life, ideals, and immense contribution to the nation. Speeches, quizzes and presentations in Classes 6-11 reflected his vision of unity and integrity, leaving a lasting impression on all. Patriotic songs added a sense of pride and reverence to the atmosphere. The observance not only honoured a great leader but also encouraged students to become responsible and committed citizens of the country.

ASISC Zonal Quiz Competition

Modern High School for Girls secured the First position in the Senior Category winning by 220 points and in the Junior Category by 130 points at the ASISC Zonal Quiz Competition on 7th July, 2026. They also secured the Second position in the Sub-Junior Category.

Inter-House Table Tennis Competition, 2026

The Inter-House Table Tennis Competition for the Senior Category (Classes IX–XII) was conducted successfully on 8th July, 2026. Champak House emerged as the Champions, while Orchid House secured the Runners-up position.

Celebrating the FIFA spirit, the MHS way

The celebrations of the FIFA spirit began at Modern High School for Girls with an exhibition match featuring MHS, MHSI, and the MHS Alumni team. The exciting matches were followed by a lively FIFA Quiz conducted by the students accompanied by popular football anthems. Everyone participated with great zeal, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship donning the jerseys in support of their favourite teams and players!

Game On! Upper Primary Celebrates the FIFA World Cup 2026

Football fever swept through the  Tuesday 7 July 2026 as students of Classes 3 to 5 came together to celebrate their love for the FIFA World Cup. Dressed in the jerseys and colours of their favourite teams, students and teachers transformed the school shed into a vibrant football arena filled with cheers, excitement and team spirit.

The celebration began with interesting facts about the history of the FIFA World Cup and the game of football, giving students a glimpse into the sport’s rich legacy. This was followed by an exciting football quiz, where students impressed everyone with their remarkable knowledge of the game.

A special dance performance to “Dai Dai,” the official anthem of the FIFA World Cup 2026, added to the festive atmosphere, with both students and teachers enthusiastically joining in. Another highlight was the World Cup Prediction Board, where students wrote down their predictions for the team they believed would lift the coveted trophy.

It was a lively and memorable celebration that brought everyone together to share the joy, excitement and true spirit of the beautiful game.

LowerKG – World Music Day and World Yoga Day – 2026

The children of Lower KG  celebrated World Music Day and World Yoga Day with great enthusiasm through a variety of fun and interactive activities.

On World Music Day, they explored the sounds of different musical instruments, identified them through audio clips, coloured matching instrument pictures. They also strengthened their listening and counting skills by counting musical beats and matching them with number flashcards.

During the World Yoga Day celebration, the children enthusiastically imitated different yoga poses using flashcards, enhancing their balance, coordination, concentration and awareness of healthy living. Both celebrations provided joyful learning experiences that nurtured creativity, focus and overall development.

Assembly on Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee

To commemorate the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on Monday 6 July 2026, a special assembly was conducted by the students of Class 5.

The assembly served as a meaningful opportunity for the students to learn about the life and contributions of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, the founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. The students researched his life and shared interesting facts about his achievements, ideals and his vision for the nation.

Through their presentations, the students paid tribute to his legacy and reflected on the values of patriotism, leadership  and dedication to public service that he stood for. The assembly concluded with a renewed appreciation for his remarkable contributions to the country and inspired the students to uphold these values in their own lives.

Zonal Round of the ASISC Fr. George Hess Literary Competition (Painting)

The students of Modern High School for Girls won laurels for the school at the Zonal Round of the Painting Competition of the Fr. George Hess Literary Competition (ASISC Literary Events 2026), held on 2nd July, 2026 at Elias Meyer F.S. & T.T., Kolkata. Vaarya Kiran Saikia of Class 8A secured First Place in the Sub Junior Category, Suvasika Saha of Class 9B secured First Place in the Junior Category, and Mihikaa Arya of Class 12D secured First Place in the Senior Category.
