Aadya Saraf of Modern High School for Girls was declared as the Winner in the ASISC Story Telling Competition held on 3rd July, 2026.


On 30 June 2026, students from Classes 3, 4 and 5 represented Modern High School for Girls at PRISM, hosted by South City International School.
Our students participated in four events : In Echoes of Expression – Poem Recitation, Tvesha Bhattacharjee (Class 3) delivered a confident performance and was awarded 1st Place. In Qzzie Bees, a quiz based on the theme Around the World, Gunja Ray and Ayana Sen combined their knowledge and teamwork to secure 2nd Place.
Our school was also represented in Matth-O-Mania by Aratrika Chowdhury (Class 5) and Hrisha Ghuwalewala (Class 4) and in Sportshere by Sayesha Bhandari (Class 3), Arohi Agarwal (Class 4) and Pahel Thakker (Class 5).
The event was a rewarding experience, encouraging students to learn, collaborate and grow while interacting with peers from other schools. We congratulate all our participants for representing the school with enthusiasm, commitment and true sporting spirit.

Modern High School for Girls held its Senior School Investiture Ceremony on 30th June, 2026. The Head Girl, Deputy Head Girl, Core Committee Members, Captains and Vice Captains of the 8 Houses and the Class 10 Prefects, forming the Student Council for the Academic Year 2026-27 were invested with their respective badges as they took an oath to serve the school to the best of their ability with honour and dignity. It was a moment of pride, responsibility, and aspiration. It instilled leadership, discipline, and commitment among students. As the badges were conferred, emotions of honour and determination prevailed. The ceremony upheld the ethos of trust and service, inspiring young leaders to lead with integrity.

On 24th June, a group of students participated in the workshop “Mit Denken”, organised by Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Kolkata.
The workshop introduced students to the ideas and work of the German philosopher and cultural critic Walter Benjamin, with a special focus on themes such as art, media, and the modern world. Through a variety of interactive activities and discussions, students explored how Benjamin’s ideas continue to influence the way we understand culture, technology, and society today.
The session was designed to be engaging and thought-provoking, offering participants a basic introduction to philosophical thinking in a fun and accessible way. Students were encouraged to express their opinions, work collaboratively, and reflect on different perspectives. A touch of German was woven into the activities, making the experience both educational and enjoyable.
The workshop provided a unique opportunity for students to experience learning beyond the classroom. It inspired curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper appreciation of German language and culture. The participants returned with new insights and memorable experiences that will benefit them in their future learning.

On Monday, 29 June 2026, the students of Class 3, members of our after-school Ballet Club participated in an inspiring Ballet Masterclass led by the renowned ballet educator Ms. Khushcheher Dallas, Director of The School of Classical Ballet and Western Dance, Mumbai, alongside our Ballet Advisor, Mr. Prasanna Saikia.
Through fun and engaging activities, the students explored the fundamentals of classical ballet, learning graceful movements, correct posture and basic ballet positions.The interactive session encouraged discipline, balance, coordination, confidence and self-expression, with teachers enthusiastically participating alongside their students. .
Filled with energy, enthusiasm and plenty of smiles, the workshop was a memorable celebration of movement and creativity. The session left everyone inspired and with a deeper appreciation for the beauty and artistry of classical ballet.

On Wednesday, 24 June 2026, the Upper Primary Department of our school came together to celebrate World Music Day with a vibrant showcase of talent, creativity and enthusiasm. Through music, dance and interactive activities, our students displayed remarkable confidence, teamwork and stage presence.
The programme featured a variety of engaging performances. Class 3 delighted the audience with a joyful rendition of Toca Toca, while Class 4 presented a lively performance of Everything at Once. Class 5 impressed everyone with an energetic dance and hula-hoop act. Students also participated in the interactive Musical Passport trivia game, which introduced them to musical traditions from around the world.
Adding to the fun was the humorous Long Word Song comedy act, which kept the audience thoroughly entertained. A spirited performance of Dai Dai brought the excitement of football to the stage, while a captivating body percussion rendition of Wellerman, performed by students and teachers, showcased impressive rhythm, coordination and collaboration. The celebration concluded with a lively song-and-dance finale that had everyone swaying to the music.
Filled with music, laughter and creativity, the event was a joyful reminder of music’s unique power to connect, inspire and bring people together.
