International Yoga Day 2025 – Nursery

International Yoga Day was a funfilled activity with the newest members of the MHS family! The little ones practiced simple yoga poses like the “Tree pose” and “Butterfly pose” with their friends and teachers. They enjoyed stretching, breathing and doing simple meditation which helped them relax
and focus.

Visit to National University of Singapore, 2025

Students from Classes 9 and 10 of Modern High School for Girls visited the National University of Singapore to attend the Summer Camp. It was an enriching experience as they attended lectures, made presentations and participated in hands-on activities and experiments, exploring topics beyond the general curriculum.

Prize Day 2025

Modern High School for Girls celebrated the Annual Prize Day on 9th May, 2025 with great enthusiasm, honouring the achievements of our talented students. The event featured cultural performances and the distribution of awards for academic excellence and co-curricular accomplishments. It was a proud moment for students, parents, and teachers, highlighting dedication, discipline, and the spirit of success.

50th All India Inter School Regatta – 2025

Modern High School for Girls represented by Gayatri Sriram , Ishanvi Jalan , Aditi Srinivas and Srinija Chatterjee participated in the 50th All India Inter School Regatta -2025 and won the Silver medal in the Senior Girls Fours category.

In the 21st Bengal Rowing Club Students Rowing Championship, Gayatri Sriram , Ishanvi Jalan , Anandi Chowdhury and Aditi Srinivas won the Gold medal in the Senior Girls Coxed Fours event winning the prestigious M. P. Birla Rolling Trophy . They also won the Silver medal in the Senior Girls Indoor Rowing event .

Rabindra Jayanti 2025 – Class 2

Class 2 remembered the great poet, Rabindranath Tagore by reciting poems written by him on nature. They recited 4 of his poems, and drew pictures depicting them too. Students also sang ‘Phule Phule’ and ‘Alo Amar Alo’.

There were even discussions in class about the poet’s immense contribution to Indian literature.

Rabindra Jayanti 2025 – Class 1

The children of Class 1 celebrated Rabindra Jayanti on 9 May 2025. They came dressed in the colours of the four elements, ie fire, water, air and earth. They enthusiastically performed a poem and a few songs, that were chosen in keeping with this theme.

Simple information on Rabindra Nath Tagore was also shared in class.

Rabindra Jayanti 2025 – Lower KG

Rabindra Jayanti was celebrated by the children of Lower KG on 9th May 2025 with great zeal and enthusiasm. The little ones came to school adorned in floral clips and hairbands, adding charm and festivity to the occasion.
To mark the birth anniversary of the great poet Rabindranath Tagore, they sang two of his songs. A short discussion was also held in the classroom to help the children understand the significance of Rabindra Jayanti.

Rabindra Jayanti 2025 – Upper KG

On the occasion of Rabindra Jayanti the students of Upper KG sang songs written by Tagore and recited a few lines from the poem Paper Boats. They also made paper hand bands and drew paper boats in their books

Rabindra Jayanti Celebrations 2025

On May 6th, Class 3s celebrated the magic of Rabindranath Tagore through the eyes of our little artists! The life and work of the great poet, philosopher, and Nobel Laureate was celebrated through songs, dances, recitations and speeches.

The spirit of Tagore came alive through the children’s presentation and reminded us why Tagore remains so important even today. He believed that learning should be joyful and connected to nature, an idea that still influences modern education. His work reminded children to stay curious, be creative, and live with love for all living beings.

Even in today’s digital world, Tagore’s words light up young hearts and remind them that true learning is about freedom, creativity, and joy.
