Rabindra Jayanti 2025

The students of Modern High School for Girls celebrated Rabindra Jayanti on 8th May, 2025 or the 25th day of the Bengali month of ‘Boisakh’ to commemorate the 164th birth anniversary of Nobel laureate, Rabindranath Tagore. The MHS team presented Tagore’s ‘Sukh Dukkho’, ‘Tota Kahini’ and ‘ Valmiki Pratibha’. From heart- touching musical renditions of songs and dance to recitations of his brilliant literary pieces by the students, it was a humble effort on the parts of the faculty members and the students to celebrate the multi-faceted artist whom we acknowledge as the Bard of Bengal. Tagore evokes a plethora of emotions in all of us through the immense beauty of the artistic compositions in his oeuvre and will continue to thrive in our hearts as we remember him through his creations.

International Yoga Week 2025

Students of Classes 6 to 12 at Modern High School for Girls celebrated International Yoga Day through a week-long Yoga Week observed from 17th June to 23rd June, 2025 during their Physical Education classes.

Throughout the week, students actively participated in yoga sessions that began with warm-up exercises to prepare the body for performing basic to advanced yoga asanas. They practiced asanas such as Utkatasana, Trikonasana, Ardha Chakrasana, Vajrasana, Padmasana, and relaxation poses like Sukhasana.

Alongside the physical practice, students were also taught about the benefits and contraindications of each asana, promoting safe and mindful yoga habits.

The main objective of celebrating Yoga Week was to create awareness about the connection between the body, mind, and soul, and to encourage students to adopt yoga as a part of their daily lifestyle for holistic well-being.

Interhouse Table Tennis Competition 2025

The Inter-House Table Tennis Competition for students of Classes 6 to 8 was held on the 23rd and 24th June, 2025. The final match was a thrilling contest between Gulmohar House and Champak House. Gulmohar House emerged victorious in the final. Participants from the winning team included:

World Music Day 2025 Class 2

Our classrooms danced to the rhythm of joy and echoed like little concert halls. It was a day when books took a backseat and beats took the spotlight. Class 2 students brought different musical instruments like keyboard, guitar, mouth organ, xylophone, etc and created their own class band. A body percussion game to the tune of ‘Bella Ciao’ was played which helped them understand rhythm and beats. Worksheets were also done to enhance their understanding about different instruments played all over the world.
World Music Day reminded us that music has no boundaries – it connects us, heals us and makes our world brighter.

World Music Day 2025 Nursery

The youngest members of the MHS family – the children of Nursery celebrated World Music Day with a lot of enthusiasm. They danced and sang to various songs sung by the music teacher. They also enjoyed playing with the various musical instruments like xylophone, maracas, drums, tambourine, flute etc. The celebration was filled with melody and rhythm and created a lively atmosphere in the class.

International Yoga Day 2025 Class 2

The students of Class 2 celebrated International Yoga Day with calm minds, stretched bodies, and cheerful hearts. The students had special yoga sessions where they did yoga asanas and poses like butterfly pose, vrikshasana, Dhanurasana,and learnt the benefits of yoga.
International Yoga Day reminded us how important it is to take care of our body and minds.

International Yoga Day 2025 Class 1

The children of Class 1 observed International Yoga Day on 20 June 2025. They learnt a few yoga postures and those familiar with it demonstrated some on their own. The children thoroughly enjoyed their yoga session and participated enthusiastically. The benefits of yoga and the importance of good health were also discussed.

 

International Yoga Day 2025 Upper KG

The children of Upper KG were happily engaged in a yoga session, stretching their bodies and learning to stay calm and focused on the occasion of International Yoga Day.

International Yoga Day 2025 Lower KG

International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the children of Lower KG on 20th June 2025. The little ones were introduced to the importance of staying fit and healthy through simple and fun yoga activities.

They watched pictures of different yoga poses, learned their names, and enthusiastically tried to copy each pose. It was a joyful and interactive session that helped them understand the basics of yoga in a playful manner.

To add a creative touch, the children also participated in a craft activity where they designed their very own yoga costumes.
The event was both educational and enjoyable, helping our young learners develop an early appreciation for fitness and creativity.
