An Economics Masterclass was organized on 21st April, 2026 for Classes 11 and 12 based on the topic Law of Variable Proportions. The Resource Person was Ms. Paramita Chakraborty, Assistant Professor of Shri Shikshayatan College.

The students of Classes 6 -12 of Modern High School for Girls celebrated Earth Day on 22nd April, 2026 with vibrant assemblies that beautifully blended creativity and awareness. The programmes featured engaging skits, soulful musical presentations, thoughtful recitations, and inspiring speeches, all centred on environmental conservation. Beyond performances, students showcased their innovation by crafting useful items from recyclable materials and everyday waste, highlighting the importance of reuse and sustainability. These displays not only reflected their artistic skills but also their growing sense of responsibility towards the planet. The celebration was a meaningful and joyful initiative, encouraging students to adopt eco-friendly habits and embrace more sustainable ways of living in their daily lives.

57 members of the MHS Guide Company went to Chalsa for their Annual Guide Camp from 27th to 31st March, 2026.


On 14th April 2026, the German students of classes 10 and 11 participated in the first session of the “DeutschDialogTreff” organised at Goethe Institut/Max Müller Bhavan, Kolkata.
The session focused on discussing matters concerning the theme “Stress” through simple German dialogues and words.
From discussing words and phrases about things like Prüfungsergebnisse (exam results) and Krankheiten (illnesses) that make one stressful, to creating funny, short dialogues and skits with assigned group members about coping up with Stress through methods like “Musik hören” (hearing music) and “Zeit mit Freunden verbringen” (spending time with friends), it was a fun-filled and enriching opportunity for the participants to enhance and practise their spoken German skills outside the school environment.

Modern High School for Girls celebrated the Annual Prize Day on 7th April, 2026 with great enthusiasm, honouring the achievements of our talented students. The event featured cultural performances and the distribution of awards for academic excellence and co-curricular accomplishments. It was a proud moment for students and teachers, highlighting dedication, discipline, and the spirit of success.


A Biology, EVS & Geography Interdisciplinary Masterclass was held on 16th March, 2026 on the topic of Biodiversity Conservation. The Resource Person was Dr. Akash Chowdhury, Assistant Professor at Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy College, spoke at length about this in this interactive session throwing light upon some burning issues relevant to this time.
