DAAD Session

On 11 March 2026, Modern High School for Girls had the pleasure of hosting Mr. Rapp, Director of the Regional Office of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in New Delhi. Having assumed his post in November and serving as an officer for the PASCH initiative, Mr. Rapp visited the school to introduce students to Germany as an exciting destination for higher education.

During the session, he spoke about the wide range of opportunities available at German universities, particularly for students considering future studies such as Master’s and PhD programmes. He also highlighted the academic strengths of German institutions, the availability of English-taught programmes, and the various pathways open to international students.

The interactive session was attended by interested students from Grades 8, 9 and 11. Students engaged enthusiastically, asking thoughtful and relevant questions about studying and living in Germany. The lively exchange made the session both informative and inspiring, offering valuable insights into future academic possibilities in Germany.

Educational Field Trip to Orissa

An educational field visit to Puri, including Konark Sun Temple, Pipli and Raghurajpur, was organized from 26 February to 1 March, 2026 for the students of Modern High School for Girls. The visit provided a rich cultural and historical learning experience. Students explored the architectural magnificence of the Konark Sun Temple, the spiritual heritage of Puri, the vibrant applique craft of Pipli and the traditional Pattachitra art of Raghurajpur.
The students participated in hands-on workshops with local artisans, field sketching and maintaining field notes. Heritage documentation and discussions on temple symbolism enhanced their observational and interpretative skills.

Guest Edition of TOI by MHS Student Reporters

Student reporters of Classes 9 and 11 visited the The Times of India office on 26th February,2026 with their mentors to work on the Guest Edition for the News in Education segment. The visit proved to be both productive and enriching, offering students valuable insight into the inner workings of print media and the collaborative process behind publishing a newspaper.

 

All About Art ‘Waste to Art’ Activity

All About Art Club celebrates creativity with a waste-to-art activity, where discarded materials find new life. Students transform discarded cardboard and paper into imaginative artworks, learning sustainability, innovation, and responsibility. Art becomes a joyful statement: nothing is useless when imagination leads the way through play, purpose, colour, collaboration, and making.

Republic Day Celebrations 2026

Modern High School for Girls marked India’s 77th Republic Day with a vibrant programme, “Unsung Heroes”, hosted by the students of Class 9 on 26th January, 2026. The event celebrated the nation’s evolving landscape and the students’ vision for a brighter future. The students enthralled all with a musical presentation  of Fakir Sanyasi Rebellion and the Naval mutiny of 1946 through a mesmerising rendition of Salil Choudhury’s ‘Dheu Utheche’. The students also celebrated the life of Dakshayini Velayudhan, the only Dalit woman in the Constituent Assembly along with other lesser known events and personalities that fall beyond the mainstream. The celebration was graced by teachers, parents, and distinguished guests, who added to the fervour of the occasion.

Saraswati Puja Celebrations 2026

On the auspicious occasion of Saraswati Puja on 23rd January, 2026 students and faculty members gathered to offer their prayers as lifelong learners. They wished for wisdom to shape their minds, truth to mould their conscience and courage to face the challenges of life to become holistic beings.

Rangers Debate Competition, 2026

The Rangers Debate Competition was successfully conducted on 12th and 19th January, 2026 as a part of the Nipun Badge syllabus, with the objective of enhancing students’ communication skills, critical thinking, and confidence in public speaking.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from the Rangers, who showcased commendable debating skills on a variety of thought-provoking topics. The event provided a platform for the students to express their views logically, listen to opposing opinions respectfully, and respond with clarity and confidence.

Celebration of Vivekananda Jayanti

The students of Modern High School for Girls celebrated Swami Vivekananda Jayanti on 12th January, 2026 through class presentations with a blend of discipline, cultural pride and deep reflection on Swami’s life. They delivered speeches, developed creative presentations and offered prayers and songs commemorating this important day. The young minds focused on Swamiji’s faith in the power of the youth, his definition of education and his ideals of universal brotherhood and unity of religions. Such assemblies enabled students to inculcate the virtues extolled by Swami Vivekananda.
