The Junior Department came alive with energy and excitement from 4 July 2025, as students from all eight houses competed in the much-awaited Inter-House Table Tennis and Badminton
In Table Tennis Singles, Chitrita Dhanuka of Jasmine House played brilliantly to win the title, while Alia Rajgarhia of Magnolia House finished as runner-up.
The Doubles match saw an impressive performance by Kaira Bhaya and Sumedha Gupta of Jasmine House, who won the tournament, while Vani Agarwal and Dia Khetan of Magnolia House gave them tough competition and came in second.
The Badminton Singles final was intense, with Vani Agarwal of Magnolia House taking the win, and Ashwika Bhuwalka of Rose House finishing as runner-up.
In Badminton Doubles, Shivanshika Sanghavi and Abhipsha Mitter of Lotus House emerged as champions, while Shanaya Goenka and Amaira Jain put up a great fight to claim the runner-up spot.
The matches were filled with exciting rallies, close finishes, and great sportsmanship. All players showed amazing effort and enthusiasm, making the tournament a fun and memorable event for everyone involved. However for the first time, walk overs had to be given as some students ‘forgot’ they had games on a Monday morning. Disappointing for the House and particularly for the participants who did come for the game and were left partnerless. We trust this is a first and last time occurance.
Modern High School for Girls hosted the CISCE Albert Barrow Creative Writing Competition on 11th July, 2025. Candidates from leading schools of Kolkata gathered to engage in a battle of creativity weaving stories through their imaginations.
A session on Admission to the School of Visual Art, New York was conducted by Ms. Aditi Khurana on 10th July, 2025. She gave valuable insights into the admission process and the requirements and methods of developing the portfolio. The session was attended by the Art students of Class 12.
Media-Smart and Future-Ready: MHSG Students at Digivoice 2025, Pune.
Two students from MHSG were selected to represent the school at the Digivoice Youth Congress, held from June 23rd to 27th, 2025, at the Goethe-Institut, Pune. The congress, tailored for young individuals aged 14–17, focused on empowering youth through media literacy.
Participants engaged in a vibrant and enriching program that included interactive workshops, thought-provoking discussions, collaborative group activities, and spirited competitions. The event emphasized the importance of critical thinking, digital citizenship, and responsible media consumption in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Beyond skill development, the congress also fostered intercultural exchange and collaboration, offering a unique platform for students from diverse backgrounds to connect, learn, and grow together. The experience not only broadened participants’ perspectives but also encouraged them to become more informed, reflective, and responsible members of the digital world.
The students of Modern High School for Girls participated in Bosco Fest 2025 organised by Don Bosco, Park Circus on 12th July, 2025 and were declared the BEST SCHOOL.
MHS secured the First position in Art and Graffiti (Junior), Quiz, Tug of War, Karate (Junior), Cyberhunt, Nova GL 60 and Melodia. They won’t the Second place in Ad Spoof and Table Tennis ( Senior Girls). MHS received the Third position in Hindi Creative Writing, Face Off, Unconventional Games and Jukebox.
The Senior Inter- House Debate 2025 of Modern High School for Girls was conducted on 5th July, 2025 with Orchid House emerging as the winner and Jasmine House as the Runners up. The topic for the final round was ‘Censoring content on Social Media is a breach of the Freedom of Speech and Expression ‘. Jasmine’s Dhyana K of Class 10 was declared the Best Speaker.
Students of Modern High School for Girls participated in ‘Morpheus’ the South City International School Fest 2025 and secured the Overall First Position winning many accolades making their alma mater proud.
The list of events participated in and the position secured are as follows:
1st in Debate, English Creative Writing, Basketball, Football, Fireless Cooking, Vlogging, Ad Spoof and Shark Tank.
2nd in Badminton, Quiz and Bengali Creative Writing.
3rd in Eastern Dance, Western Dance, Coding Jam and IPL Auction.
The Class 11 Psychology students went for the screening of the movie ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ on 5th July, 2025.
