The young learners of Class 2 embarked on an exciting and hands-on project all about plants! This project was designed to help students explore the world of plants through observation, discovery, creativity and care.
Each section chose a sub topic – Types of plants and Parts of a Plant, Food from Plants, Non-food items or Gifts from plants, and how plants are essential for Saving the Earth. The students learnt about the different parts of a plant, their uses and the different types of plants. They collected wrappers and boxes of various food items, drew and coloured pictures of the same, collected samples to understand how most of the food items we consume come from plants. They also brought non- food items such as pieces of cloth, rubber gloves, and jute rope, among other things, to demonstrate the various useful things we obtain from plants. The need to care for the environment by planting more seeds and stop deforestation was reiterated through this project.
It was a delightful and educational journey that helped the children connect with nature and discover the joy of watching something grow.

As part of our ongoing commitment to the Professional Development of our teachers, the Junior School organised an Interactive Session on Nurturing Teachers’ Wellbeing which was conducted by Dr. J R Ram, an eminent psychiatrist of Kolkata.
The insightful session provided a reflective space for educators to focus on their own mental and emotional health—an often overlooked area in our busy schedule. Dr. Ram addressed issues like triggers for stress, coping mechanisms, balancing workload, time management, mindfulness and other factors leading to anxiety, burnout and depression.
The interactive session, enriched with relatable examples and gentle humour was both engaging and eye-opening. It was an enriching experience that reminded us that caring of our students begins with caring for ourselves. As educators, we felt empowered with practical tools, renewed purpose and a deeper understanding of our own well-being.

As part of its commitment to environmental conservation awareness, the Clean Club organized a field trip to Harinalaya Zoo on 2nd July, 2025. An urban setting situated within Eco Park, Kolkata, this allowed club members to explore and engage with wildlife within city spaces. The students were accompanied and assisted by a forest officer and a conservation specialist, who provided in-depth knowledge about the animals, their natural habitats, and the ongoing efforts to protect and conserve them. This visit to the zoo served not only as an educational outing but also as a reminder of the importance of coexisting with and protecting the natural world, even within our cities. It aligned with the Clean Club’s mission, fostering environmental responsibility and awareness.
