Professional Development Session- Nurturing Teachers’ Wellbeing

As part of our ongoing commitment to the Professional Development of our teachers, the Junior School organised an Interactive Session on Nurturing Teachers’ Wellbeing which was conducted by Dr. J R Ram, an eminent psychiatrist of Kolkata.

The insightful session provided a reflective space for educators to focus on their own mental and emotional health—an often overlooked area in our busy schedule. Dr. Ram addressed issues like triggers for stress, coping mechanisms, balancing workload, time management, mindfulness and other factors leading to anxiety, burnout and depression.

The interactive session, enriched with relatable examples and gentle humour was both engaging and eye-opening. It was an enriching experience that reminded us that caring of our students begins with caring for ourselves. As educators, we felt empowered with practical tools, renewed purpose and a deeper understanding of our own well-being.

The matches were filled with exciting rallies, close finishes, and great sportsmanship. All players showed amazing effort and enthusiasm, making the tournament a fun and memorable event for everyone involved. However for the first time, walk overs had to be given as some students ‘forgot’ they had games on a Monday morning. Disappointing for the House and particularly for the participants who did come for the game and were left partnerless. We trust this is a first and last time occurance.
