The Times of India AI Quiz Competition 2025

Modern High School for Girls participated in the Times of India AI Quiz and has secured  the overall 6th position in all Bengal and won the Judge’s Choice Award. A total of 110 schools participated in this Smart Bengal AI Interschool Quiz Competition from different districts of West Bengal. The students showcased their strong analytical and AI knowledge making their school proud.

MHS Carnival

The Modern High School Carnival was organized on 23rd December, 2025 to usher in the festive spirit of the season with students, faculty members and parents coming together for a day of fun and frolic. It was a jocund gathering with stalls showcasing wonderful handmade merchandise from tote bags to candles, scrumptious food and numerous engaging games. The carnival also comprised the Photography Exhibition by the Focus Club who flaunted the wonderful vignettes of Kolkata captured through the lenses by the club members and an Art Exhibition showcasing the creative and soul-stirring canvases created by the students. Caroling and a vibrant performance by the Mask Club members added to the Yuletide celebrations.

The Society for Oral Education of the Deaf Concert

On 28th November, 2025, The Society for Oral Education of the Deaf (OSDC) had organized a concert, to showcase the talents of children who are differently abled. The Chief Guest was, Mrs. D. Kar, the Director of Modern High School for Girls.
The concert had three acts, one was a recreation of the children’s book, ‘The Jungle Book’ a fusion dance where the children performed on songs like Sapphire, a poem recitation, where a boy was trying speaking in front of an audience for the very first time, and lastly a group which signed the words to a song, which spoke about joy, and the shine of life.
Through this concert, what stood out was that not everything needed perfection. Even in the chaos, one could see the efforts put in by everyone.

Commerce, Field & Business Studies Field Trip 2025

The Commerce, Accounts & Business Studies field trip to Sona Biscuits Ltd. at Sheoraphuly was organized on 4th December, 2025 where the students observed the entire operating cycle of the factory. The objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to the manufacturing, costing, and business operations involved in producing cakes and biscuits and to help them understand real-life applications of accounting records, marketing strategies, organisational structure, and supply-chain processes in an industrial unit.

Christmas 2025 – Class 2

The students of Class 2 had a joyful Christmas celebration filled with fun,excitement and laughter. The children wrote letters to Santa sharing their thoughts and wishes.They also had fun solving an engaging Christmas-themed worksheet.They had a festive Christmas party where they enjoyed delicious cupcakes, refreshing juice, and some light snacks.They had a wonderful time sharing their treats. The day ended with merrymaking as they sang Christmas carols together. It was a heartwarming celebration for everyone involved.

 

Christmas 2025 – Class 1

The children of Class 1 had fun making a tasty treat on Wednesday 17 December 2025, welcoming in Christmas! They brought a muffin and decorated it with chocolate sauce and gems. This was enjoyed along with fruit juice while listening to Christmas carols. The festive headgear brightened up the class party even more.

On Thursday 18 December 2025 the children went to the garden and exchanged storybooks with each other in the true Christmas spirit of sharing. These books were wrapped with newspaper decorated by the children themselves reinforcing the importance of recycling. The arrival of Santa Claus during this activity added to their excitement.

Christmas 2025 – Upper KG

The students of Upper KG celebrated Christmas by creating festive craft such as bells, snowmen, fairies, Christmas trees and candles, using their creativity and imagination. They also enjoyed the Flip and Match game and exchanged books, learning the joy of sharing and spreading happiness.

Christmas 2025 – Lower KG

The Lower KG classrooms were beautifully decorated with colourful Christmas-themed artwork, and the children came dressed in Santa caps and festive headbands.

The celebrations included singing Christmas carols, decorating the Christmas tree and engaging in various group activities related to Christmas craft.
Fun activities like making Pin the Nose on Rudolph, number games like feeding the Santa cookies and filling Santa’s stockings with colourful balls were enjoyed by all..
The children also enjoyed a cupcake party. They added their own touch using icing, frosting, sprinkles etc—and thoroughly enjoyed eating their creations thereafter!
A special highlight of the celebration was the surprise visit from Santa Claus, who joined the children, danced with them, and spread happiness all around. Santa’s presence made the day even more special, filling it with giggles and laughter.
To conclude the celebrations, the children made special Season’s Greeting cards and joyfully exchanged books with one another, spreading the true spirit of sharing and giving.

Christmas 2025 – Nursery

The children of Nursery celebrated Christmas in school with great joy and excitement.They came dressed in colourful headgears, Santa caps and various Christmas accessories.They were delighted to meet Santa and had cupcakes for tiffin! The celebration ended with smiles, laughter and lots of festive fun.

 

Inter-School Invitation Relay at Mahadevi Birla World Academy

Class 5 students of Modern High School for Girls participated in the Inter-School Invitation Relay held at Mahadevi Birla World Academy on 19 December 2025. The team secured the 3rd position.
