Durga Puja, a vibrant festival that celebrates the triumph of good over evil, was joyfully marked by our Class 2 students with great enthusiasm. The day began with an introduction to the significance of the festival, followed by engaging activities across all sections.
Students prepared a creative version of Malai Cham Cham using bread, cream, milk powder, and beetroot juice for color, beautifully garnished with rose petals, coconut and nuts. Sharing the sweet treat filled the classrooms with joy.
Through a worksheet, they learned about the ten weapons of Goddess Durga and decorated their class boards to reflect the festive spirit. They also linked the ‘vahanas’ of different deities with animals studied in EVS.
The celebration not only immersed the children in tradition but also taught them values of courage, strength, unity and respect for culture.
