Shabd (1st, 2nd, and 3rd August), the Mahadevi Birla World Academy’s literary fest, was quite an experience for the Modern High School International students. The events were over three days and each day was filled with utmost excitement and met with enthusiasm. The events were slam poetry, quiz, debate, and a theatre workshop, which the students actively participated in. Selecting people was not easy due to all students possessing a plethora of talents. However, we were successful in choosing the correct participants, as IB 1 student Akshita Poddar went on to win the best speaker award for the turncoat debate and everyone else performed wonders as well. It was a great learning experience for all the students who participated.
On 6th August 2022, students of MHSI participated in an inter-school educational fest, ‘Logique’, and an International-Relation Conference organized by Delhi Public School, Ruby Park.
In Logique we took part in the events MindwareBytes and DroidWars. MindwareBytes was a brain-exercising quiz testing our knowledge on the themes of Tech & Math. Whereas DroidWars was a robotic project, based on the theme of RoadSafety.
The IR Conference aimed at analyzing ‘The New Nuclear Age and the Threats to the Contemporary World.’ Participants were expected to spread awareness and explore perspectives in different forms. The events we took part in were
i) Paper Presentation, ii) Skit, iii) Art, iv) Panel Discussion.
Our paper was titled ‘Nuclear Energy: casualties, the environment and our ethics’ and in our presentation, we focused on discussing the impact of nuclear energy and our understanding of the ethics regarding nuclear technology and the moral code that all nations and individuals are to abide by.
We put up a satirical play for the skit that enacted the USA’s role in nuclear production. We proudly grabbed the first runners-up prize in the skit.
Our art piece was a poster in a comic script appearance illustrating the positive uses of nuclear energy.
All in all, the events were engaging and a good learning experience.
We were proud to grab the first runners-up prize in the skit. Audrija Dutta, Ishana Kandhari, Vaibhavi Gupta, Priyal Binani, and Vani Saraf.
