The Lower KG children celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm, joy and patriotic spirit. A short, child-friendly presentation introduced the little learners to the brave heroes who fought for India’s freedom and helped them understand the significance of the day.
The children proudly sang patriotic songs while holding handmade Indian flags and wearing handmade colourful tricolour wristbands. They also explored India’s National Symbols through a range of engaging and creative activities.
As part of the celebration, the children created beautiful peacock feathers, representing India’s National Bird, using hand impressions, Fabriano cut-outs, straws and paper leaves. They made a mango motif, representing India’s National Fruit, using recycled pieces of cloth. The Lotus, India’s National Flower, was brought to life using rolled crepe-paper balls, thumbprints and sponge impressions.The children also created the Banyan Tree, India’s National Tree, using colouring, cotton dabbing and paper pasting techniques.
Towards the end, they enthusiastically solved a puzzle by bringing together the pieces to reveal a National Symbol.
Through these hands-on activities, the children learnt about India’s National Symbols while developing their creativity, fine-motor skills and a sense of pride in their country. The celebration beautifully blended creativity, learning, patriotism and joyful participation, making Independence Day a truly meaningful and memorable experience for our little learners.
