We believe that every student can learn and succeed. Our goal is to enable students to overcome challenges to mental health and academic success. We aim to foster confidence in students and positive attitudes in their teachers, parents and peers.
A team of special education teachers and counsellors with the help of mainstream subject teachers cater to the educational and emotional needs of students who require additional support. The students are observed in class and avail of individual sessions with a member of the DNST.
Counsellors may be approached by students directly; with parental approval, special educators collaborate with teachers to formulate individualized educational plans (IEPs) and provide support both in classrooms and in individual or small group sessions. Concessions for students with special needs, in accordance with CISCE norms are provided during examinations.
