Smt. Nirmala Birla is the Chairman of the Governing Body (Managing Committee).
Smt. Nirmala Birla keeps an extremely low profile. She is the daughter-in-law of Smt. Rukmani Birla, our founder.
Other than Modern High School for Girls, Kolkata, she looks after the following organizations:

2. Birla Archaeological & Cultural Research Institute, Hyderabad
3. B.M.Birla Science Centre
4. G.P.Birla Library (Founded by Nirmala Birla)
5. Nirmala Birla Gallery of Modern Art
6. Archaeological Museum
7. B.M. Birla Planetarium
8. G.P.Birla Observatory & Astronomical Research Centre (Founded by Nirmala Birla)
9. G.P.Birla Museum, Bhopal
10. B.M.Birla Research Centre, Ujjain
She also overlooks the care of several landmark temples across India. She has recently instituted the G P.Birla Educational Foundation, Kolkata, which grants scholarships to meritorious and needy students.
The Governing Body (Managing Committee) comprises the President/Chairperson, the Secretary and the Joint Secretary. At present the Director is the Secretary and the Principal is an ex-officio member.
Other members include parents, teachers, doctors, lawyers and eminent academicians.
