Modern High School participated in the CISCE Rifle Shooting Competition in U-19, hosted by La Martiniere for Boys on the 13th and 14th of July.
Under-19 Category: Rupal Modi placed 1st in 10m .177 Open Sight Air Rifle.
Modern High School participated in the CISCE Swimming Regional competition in U 14, U-17 & U 19, hosted by Gems Academia International School on 9th and 10th July.
In U 14, Aditi Srinivas secured 2nd position in the 200m butterfly stroke and qualified for nationals; she even secured 3rd place in the 100m butterfly stroke.
Akshita Maitra, in the U17 category, bagged a silver medal in the 200m freestyle and qualified for nationals; she secured 3rd place in the 100m freestyle stroke.
U-19 category: Avni Kajaria placed 2nd in the 50m butterfly and qualified for nationals; she bagged a bronze medal in the 800m freestyle stroke.
Shreyashee Mukherjee came 2nd in the 400m freestyle in the U19 category.
The U14 MHS Relay team and U19 Relay team bagged silver medals in the 4x100m medley relay and even in the 4x100m freestyle relay.
Modern High School participated in the CISCE U-17 Chess Tournament 2024, which was hosted by Calcutta Public School on July 6th and 7th.
The students demonstrated exceptional skill and determination among 51 participants from 16 schools, including MHS.
Vaishnavi Poddar excelled by scoring 5 points, winning 4 matches, and drawing 2, securing an impressive 3rd position. Ananya Garg also performed admirably, scoring 3.5 points by winning 3 matches, drawing one out of 6 matches, and achieving the 18th position. Aarshi Roy Bishnu showcased her talent as well, scoring 3 points by winning 3 matches out of 6 matches and earning the 26th position.
Anushka Patra of Modern High School for Girls participated in the U-19 Karate Championship-2024 hosted by P.B. Academic School on 6th July, and has emerged as 1st runner-up by securing silver.
She defeated Kathakali Barman from Agrasian Balika Siksha Sadan in the fifth round. Her success in the championship not only highlights her talent in karate but also brings pride to our school and her mentors.
Her victory serves as an inspiration to her peers and younger athletes aspiring to achieve excellence in martial arts. Her performance is a testament to the hard work and dedication required to succeed in the demanding sport of karate.
In an exhilarating display of skill, teamwork, and determination, the Modern High School for Girls under-14 basketball team emerged victorious in the highly competitive WB & NE regional basketball tournament organised by Loreto House on 27th June. MHS girls defeated LMG by 10 points and the final score was 20-10.
