ExeBit 12.0

Lakshmipat Singhania Academy also organised ExeBit 12.0 on 10th August, 2023. The theme was Safe Around Cyber,  particularly for young people, to be well-aware of the importance of maintaining internet safety.

Our participants, Rashika Daga from Class 5 and Kairavi Sett from Class 4 were declared the 2nd Runner up in Paint it All. In Colour Paper Brush, Saanvi Chatterjee from Class 5 won the Prize .

Indradhanush

Lakshmipat Singhania Academy organised Indradhanush 2023, a fun fiesta which focused on the theme, ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ or ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ on 10th August, 2023. A wide  spectrum of activities was held to boost the physical and mental agility, problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills of the participants.  Participants were selected from classes 2 to 5. One of our teams was awarded the 2nd prize.

Quaestio

‘Quaestio’ an Inter School Quiz Competition for the students of Classes 4 and 5 was organised by Birla High School on Wednesday, 9th August 2023 This event brought together the brightest minds from twenty schools across the city and it aimed to foster a spirit of intellectual curiosity and teamwork among students. There was a preliminary round from which 8 schools including MHS were shortlisted for the final round. The three participants for ‘Quaestio’ from Modern High School who qualified for the final round were Ishita Sarkar (4C), Palak Roy (5B) and Aishi Bhattacharya (5D). It was informative and a great learning experience for the students.

Alaap

The students of the Primary and Junior Department participated in a Non-Competitive fest ‘Alaap’ on the 20th of July, 2023, hosted by The Heritage School, Kolkata.

The theme of the fest being Celebration of Childhood, the students enjoyed participating in events like Play with Clay, Rhythm Divine, Scien-Terrific and many more. Modern High School was adjudged the High Flyers for being among the best.

Vibgyor

Unleash your Talents was held on 22nd September 2022 at M P Birla Foundation Higher Secondary School. Ava Isabella Agarwala of class 5 was judged as the winner in the event Brilliant Brush. Samaira Sirohia of class 5 and Devika Agarwala of class 4 came second in Kaleidoscope (Elocution).

Quaestio

Radhika Singh (4B), Brinda Roy (5D) and Averi Guha Thakurta (5A) represented Modern High School in Quaestio, an annual quiz competition organised  by Birla High School. The preliminary round was held on 28th July, Thursday. Our school was among the eight schools which qualified for the final round which was held on 30th July in Birla High, Mukundpur. The quiz was very well organised and there were a total of seven rounds. It was closely contested and our school won the third prize.

World Music Day 21 June 2024

On 21st June 2024, the children of the Junior Department came together to celebrate World Music Day with great fervour and exuberance. The sing-along dance-along session, not only included popular English tracks but also German, Spanish and French tracks – ‘Das Fliegerlied’, ‘De Colores’ and ‘Jean Petit Qui Danse’, respectively. The students keenly enjoyed themselves as they sang and danced with their friends. The musical session ended with a short quiz, conducted by the Class 4 students, that delved into various interesting facts about music.

Rabindra Jayanti – 2024

In keeping with the school theme of the year – ‘Seeking the truth, Speaking the truth’, the Junior Department honoured the timeless legacy of the great bard Rabindranath Tagore on his 163rd birth anniversary. An excellently woven recital, which included mellifluous singing, dance and poetry recitation, was presented embracing his ideals of love for nature, tolerance, empathy and beauty of life.

EcoBricks Workshop

The students of class 5 came together for a workshop conducted by Mrs Y Bapat, an environmentalist, on September 15, 2023, to turn non-biodegradable garbage like plastic into construction blocks. To do this, they used plastic bottles  which they firmly packed with plastic packets. This helps prevent plastic waste in the landfills and the degradation of plastics into toxins and micro plastics, which  hurts marine life when they make their way into water bodies, and endangers our health.

Bengali Special Assembly on Winter

Winter is a most pleasant time in Kolkata. We enjoy feeling the winter chill and our second language Bengali girls of the Junior Department  welcomed this season in their way. They have shown us how precious this season is through dance, music, recitation and drama presentations.
