Class 1 – Air and Water Activity

The students of Class 1 enjoyed an experiment in which they discovered that air occupies space. They carefully immersed an empty glass upside down into a bowl of water and tilted it to one side to show that the air that was inside the glass came out in the form of bubbles.

This was followed by the teacher demonstrating that air is needed for fire to burn. An inverted glass was placed over a burning candle and soon the flame extinguished to prove that fire cannot burn if the air supply is cut off.

These follow-up activities to the Water and Air topics done in EVS proved to be a fun learning experience for the children over the past week.

Class 2 Durga Puja Activity- Alpona


The children of class 2 created a beautiful alpona with white crayons on a red sheet. Alpona is a typical Bengal folk art that can be seen during Durga Puja and many other festivals and traditionally it is in white. The children enjoyed creating their designs.

Nursery Independence Day – 2024

The Nursery children celebrated Independence Day with a lot of enthusiasm and vigour. They came dressed in the colours of the National Flag – saffron, white and green. They carried the Tricolour Flag in their hands and excitedly sang “Teen Rang Ka” and “Love my country India.” They also sang the National Anthem with pride.

Upper KG Independence Day – 2024

The girls of Upper KG celebrated Independence Day on 16 August 2024. They drew the map of India using 4 letters of the alphabet: X, J, V, and K. They also learned about states, identifying one state each in the north, south, east, and west of India. They dressed up to represent the states and performed two songs in the hall. Additionally, the girls participated in an activity where they drew pictures and wrote a line about something they could do independently.

Class 1 Independence Day Programme – 2024

The children of Class 1 celebrated   Independence Day on 16 August  2024.  The parents were invited to watch them perform their program called ‘Bharata Bhagya Vidhaata.’ An excellent performance on stage through songs, dances, skits, and recitation was well appreciated by parents. Their colourful costumes brightened up the show even further. Though it was their first stage performance at school, the children were very confident and exhibited their talents beautifully.

Independence Day Class 2 – 2024


The students of Class 2  expressed their patriotic spirit by putting up bright and colourful display boards based on Unity in Diversity, Salutation to Our Heroes, Our National Symbols, and some famous quotes from our National leaders. They enthusiastically explained their work to the parents who visited the school for the Parent Teacher Meeting. In another class activity, they made Tiranga sandwiches and followed it up with writing the procedure in sequence as a part of their Composition assignment. To celebrate  Independence Day they sang patriotic songs, carrying the Tricolour,  emphasizing the importance of the three colours of the national flag and the Ashok Chakra.

Lower KG – Independence Day Celebration – 2024

The children of Lower KG celebrated Independence Day with great excitement. They came dressed in saffron, white, and green to represent the colours of the Indian flag. They sang patriotic songs and the National Anthem and also saluted the Indian Flag. The classroom display boards were decorated with the various arts and crafts that the children had done on our National symbols.

Lower KG – Bus Trip – 2024

The children of Lower KG went for a fun-filled bus ride around Kolkata on 16.12.24 and 17.12.24. They boarded the bus excitedly, and the teachers acted as tourist guides, showing them various important spots like Victoria Memorial, the National Library, the Alipore Zoo,  Princep Ghat, Vidyasagar Setu, Fort William, Howrah Bridge, Eden Gardens, Governor’s House, GPO, and the Race Course. The children thoroughly enjoyed the ride while learning more about their city.

Class 2 – Visit to the Safari Park – 2024

The children of Class 2 had a fun-filled day at the Safari Park on 10 December 2024. They had a picnic with their friends and enjoyed playing on the monkey bars, jungle gym, slides, merry-go-round, and swings. They also saw a rose garden and an aquarium.

BITM Visit – Class 2

Exploring BITM on 6 March 2024 was a whirlwind of discovery and delight.  From the Play area to the Science Magic Miracle show, laughter and learning intertwined seamlessly.  The children soaked up knowledge through play, creating cherished memories of fun-filled exploration and newfound knowledge.
