Modern High School for Girls, in association with Atlas ISDI, hosted the Grand Interschool Competition ‘Design Titans’ on 28th September 2024. It brought together design and art enthusiasts from 17 schools with the intent of furthering design thinking and creating awareness about design careers. It was a platform for students of Class 11 & 12 to compete with the best from all the top schools of Kolkata and also helped these students immensely to fortify their choice of design as a career. The event included a fashion styling competition, a prototyping competition, as well as a competitive designing of posters. The students of Modern High School for Girls secured the First Position in ‘Style it Up’ and the Second Position in ‘Prototyping’.
Soap and Candle Making Workshops
Modern High School for Girls organised a Soap and Candle Making Workshop for the students of Class 8 over September’24. It attempted to expose the students to a dynamic curriculum where life skills and community service are woven seamlessly into the school program. Keeping in mind the practices being highlighted by NEP, 2020, this workshop aimed at enhancing the spirit of inquiry with a focus on the application of the concepts learned in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Art. They were also exposed to the entrepreneurial skills related to sales such as pricing and packaging. The workshop was conducted by Mrs Nita Diwan who is an MHS alumni and the Founder of UNMISH, an NGO working tirelessly with children with special needs.

Subject Orientation for Class 8
Modern High School for Girls organized a Subject Orientation for the Class 8 students and their parents on 4th December, 2024 in order to facilitate informed decision making on their part about subject selections in Class 9. It was a highly engaging and interactive session where subject specialists provided students and parents a comprehensive overview about the various subject choice combinations and their associated career prospects.
