Modern High School for Girls, Kolkata is a post-Independence all faiths school founded in 1952 by Smt. Rukmani Devi Birla. Smt. Nirmala Birla, her daughter-in-law took over the reins after her demise. It is an all-girls’ institution committed to developing thinking and independent young women. MHS boasts of diversity, is free of any bias and embraces all students on equal terms irrespective of religion, community or socio-economic background. At MHS, we are dedicated to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence, creativity, emotional and social growth.
The school is recognized by the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) and offers ICSE curriculum till Class 10 and ISC curriculum for Classes 11 and 12.

The school offers levels from Pre-Primary to Higher Secondary (Nursery to Class 12) and employs English as the medium of instruction.
