Class 5 School Excursion to Jhargram – 2025

The Class 5 students of Modern High School for Girls set off on an unforgettable adventure to Jhargram in 2025—a journey filled with discovery, excitement and joyful memories. This three-day, two-night excursion began early on the 13th at Howrah Station, where eager students boarded the train, buzzing with anticipation. The return journey on the 15th by bus was filled with laughter, chatter and stories to treasure.

Jhargram welcomed the young explorers with its rich mix of nature, culture and history. Students visited the Jungle Mahal Zoological Park, Kanak Durga Temple, Tribal Museum, Chikligarh Palace gaining insights into the region’s heritage. They were equally captivated by the scenic beauty of the Tarafeni Barrage, the Dulung River, the Ghagra Waterfalls and the Khandarani Lake—each offering moments of wonder.

A standout moment was the vibrant tribal dance performance. The bonfire night came alive as students and teachers joined the Santhal dancers, celebrating together in rhythm and spirit.

More than just a trip, the excursion nurtured independence, waking up on time, keeping their room tidy, collective responsibility, sharing with roommates, teamwork, life skills, adhering to instructions-which most of them did. Needless to say, they bonded beautifully beyond the classroom with their teachers and classmates. It was a perfect blend of learning, laughter, and lasting memories—an experience the Class 5 students will cherish forever.

Focus Basic Trip to Rabindra Sarobar

Invitation Relay at the Annual Sports Day hosted by MHSI

Modern High School for Girls participated in the Invitation Relay at the Annual Sports Day hosted by MHSI on 12th December ,2025. Competing against LMG, Loreto House, MBWA, BSS, MHSI, and SSA, our team ran excellently and emerged as Champions.
The participants were  Mira Accavva Pooviah (11E),  Silvi Agarwal (9A), Rysa N. Doshi (9B) and Palak Roy (7D).

Power Hour@ MHS 2025

On 6th December 2025, Classes 3 and 5 of Modern High School for Girls came together for a truly unforgettable Power Hour@ MHS. In line with this year’s theme, the fitness programme was crafted to inspire students to Explore your Strength, Discover your Energy and Invent New Moves, making the morning both purposeful and energising.

The school grounds were bursting with enthusiasm as Class 3 parents and children, who had diligently practised the fitness steps shared in the earlier videos, came together for an energetic parent–child workout. Alongside the spirited participation of Class 5 students, the dedication shone through as the morning transformed into an eclectic mix of music, movement, teamwork and pure joy.

Ms R Mishra and Ms A Gupta ensured the parents stayed on the move throughout, keeping the energy high and the excitement almost tangible, creating an atmosphere that was vibrant, uplifting and absolutely unstoppable.

Ace choreographer Mr Prasanna Saika added his trademark flair to the warm-up and cool-down sessions. He had the parents grooving from start to finish and wrapped up the event on an electrifying high!

The teachers, too, infused every move with spirit and sparkle and their efforts were evident in the flawless flow of the events.

While the day was brimming with excitement, the heart of the programme lay in promoting fitness and a healthy lifestyle. The action-packed morning left everyone breathless yet energised and the unique concept won admiration from all.

City Corpus 2025

Students from Modern High School for Girls participated in City Corpus held on 1st November, 2025 at South City International School. They secured the Overall Third position. They emerged 1st in City Command (panel crisis), 2nd in City Skylines – flagship event (real estate) and City Recruit (hr management) and 3rd in City Biz (business quiz).

Class 2 Trip TTS (Tala)

On December 1 and 2, the enthusiastic Class 2 students embarked on a field trip to the Traffic Training School in Tala. During this engaging visit, they gained valuable insights into the various traffic signs and symbols that adorn our roads. The students had the opportunity to interact with knowledgeable police officers who imparted essential knowledge about the significance of each sign. Additionally, they viewed an informative video highlighting ways to prevent road accidents, further reinforcing their understanding of road safety. Back at school, the students completed a follow-up activity in the form of a worksheet focusing on traffic signs. This excursion proved to be both enjoyable and educational, leaving a lasting impression on the young minds.

Class 2 – A Trip to Safari Park

On 26 November, our Class 2 explorers set off on a thrilling adventure to the Safari Park! From exciting rides that had them squealing with delight to wandering through paths bursting with bright flowers, towering trees and fascinating plants — every moment was magical. Along the way, they spotted busy insects and colourful birds, adding to the excitement. It was a joyful detour from their daily routine, filled with laughter, learning and wonder!

Asian Finswimming Championship, 2025

Shreyashee Mukherjee, a Class 11 student of Modern High School for Girls represented India and was a part of the contingent from the Underwater Sports Association, India (USAI) who participated in the Asian Finswimming Championship, 2025 that took place in Zhanjiang, China from 24th to 29th November, 2025. This event brought together the top finswimmers from across the continent for one of Asia’s most competitive aquatic events.

Cake Mixing Ceremony at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM)

Students of Modern High School for Girls attended the Cake Mixing Ceremony at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Taratala on 5th December, 2025 and joined in the festive spirit followed by the felicitation of the Principal, Mrs. Damayanti Mukherjee.
