BITM – Space-tacular

Enlivened were the students of Class 4 on knowing they would visit BITM. On 25th June it was their time to learn about satellites. Students knew about the earth’s gravity, and they further learnt how objects can go beyond gravity to reach space. The function of liquid nitrogen and the importance of the ozone layer was explained to the students by performing experiments using objects like balloons, balls and light. The students also learnt a new term – escape velocity. It was an exciting learning experience.

BITM – Science Magic Miracle

Often the scientific phenomena are draped in the garb of illusion and presented in the form of magic, miracles and superstition by tricksters. The curious little minds of Class 3 were taken to BITM on 27.06.2024 where they enjoyed the show ‘Science Magic Miracle’ and unveiled the secrets of the magicians’ tricks. They tried the tricks themselves and were amazed by the magic of Science. The show filled them with curiosity to know more – which is the most important aspect of learning.

Inter School Fest – Meraki

The students of the Primary and Junior department participated in an Inter-School Fest – MERAKI which was hosted by Sushila Birla Girls School Kolkata on Friday, 19th January 2024.

In Glide in Wonderland (Skating), Gauri Mehta and Vaanya Rustagi from Class 4B participated and Gauri was declared the 1st Runner Up.

The next event was Ratatouille (Non-Flame Cooking) where Kiara Garodia from Class 4A and Pranya Gandhi from Class 5B were declared 2nd Runner Up.

In Tick Talking with Disney, Mohi Agarwal from Class 5C was declared the 2nd Runner Up.

The students also enjoyed participating in other events as well like Mirror Mirror on the Wall, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo and Disney Clubhouse.

Ballygunge Shiksha Sadan Inter School Invitation Relay

The following girls participated in the  Inter School Invitation Relay which was held in Ballygunge Shiksha Sadan on Friday 19 January 2024.

Inter School Fest – Spellympic

The fifth edition of ‘SPELLYMPIC 2023’, an Inter-School Spelling and Word Building Contest, was hosted by Birla High School Mukundapur. Like every year, three students of MHS – Shruti Banerjee, Umaima Siddiqua and Sharanya Mishra participated in the above.  The competition fostered great camaraderie and tested their mental agility.

ExeBit 12.0

Lakshmipat Singhania Academy also organised ExeBit 12.0 on 10th August, 2023. The theme was Safe Around Cyber,  particularly for young people, to be well-aware of the importance of maintaining internet safety.

Our participants, Rashika Daga from Class 5 and Kairavi Sett from Class 4 were declared the 2nd Runner up in Paint it All. In Colour Paper Brush, Saanvi Chatterjee from Class 5 won the Prize .

Indradhanush

Lakshmipat Singhania Academy organised Indradhanush 2023, a fun fiesta which focused on the theme, ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ or ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ on 10th August, 2023. A wide  spectrum of activities was held to boost the physical and mental agility, problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills of the participants.  Participants were selected from classes 2 to 5. One of our teams was awarded the 2nd prize.

Quaestio

‘Quaestio’ an Inter School Quiz Competition for the students of Classes 4 and 5 was organised by Birla High School on Wednesday, 9th August 2023 This event brought together the brightest minds from twenty schools across the city and it aimed to foster a spirit of intellectual curiosity and teamwork among students. There was a preliminary round from which 8 schools including MHS were shortlisted for the final round. The three participants for ‘Quaestio’ from Modern High School who qualified for the final round were Ishita Sarkar (4C), Palak Roy (5B) and Aishi Bhattacharya (5D). It was informative and a great learning experience for the students.

Alaap

The students of the Primary and Junior Department participated in a Non-Competitive fest ‘Alaap’ on the 20th of July, 2023, hosted by The Heritage School, Kolkata.

The theme of the fest being Celebration of Childhood, the students enjoyed participating in events like Play with Clay, Rhythm Divine, Scien-Terrific and many more. Modern High School was adjudged the High Flyers for being among the best.
