Job Shadowing, University Visits and Webinars
Job shadowing is a short-term learning experience designed for senior students to gain first hand exposure to various professions and industries. During this process, students observe professionals in their work environment, allowing them to understand job roles, workplace dynamics and industry expectations. This experience helps students bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world applications, offering insights into the skills required for different careers. By engaging in job shadowing, students can make informed career choices, refine their interests, and identify the necessary educational pathways for their desired professions. Additionally, it provides networking opportunities, allowing students to connect with industry professionals who can offer guidance and mentorship for their future careers.
Modern High School for Girls in its continued endeavour to stay relevant and enhance its students’ educational experience has undertaken yet another initiative – Master Class with University faculty and professionals for our Class 11/12 students. Through this initiative, college faculty, domain experts in their respective fields are invited for lecture sessions on topics within the scope of the ISC curriculum. These module-based sessions introduce students to concepts beyond the confines of the set curriculum. These experts bring new perspectives to each topic and expose students to experiences drawn from real life and latest research.
As part of our school’s ongoing efforts to provide students with opportunities for growth and exploration, we recently organized a series of university visits. These visits aimed to broaden our students’ understanding of the various academic pathways available to them, while also fostering meaningful connections with institutions of higher learning. Students gained insight into the range of undergraduate programs offered by various universities, including those in the arts, humanities, social sciences, STEM fields, and more. Students interacted with university representatives, faculty members, and current students, establishing valuable connections that may aid in their future academic pursuits. The students also got to explore the various facilities, resources, and extracurricular opportunities available, helping them envision their potential university experience.
