We at MHS, take great pride in the fact that most of our students are avid readers. This habit inculcated in school through library periods, author visits, book reading sessions by professionals is amply supported by good practices at home. This year, on 22 November, the whole school - students and faculty - will read together during the 4th period ( 11 am to 11.40 am). Please ensure that your ward is carrying a book of her choice on that day. From class 3 upwards, they are also allowed to carry their Kindle device, if they are so habituated. However no other electronic device eg Tablets or laptops are allowed. Each student will be responsible for her own book or Kindle.

You are probably aware that we have a number of Parent Volunteers who help with traffic management outside our school. They have made a noticeable difference and we are keen to include more volunteers so as to have a larger impact. The police have made a special and urgent request to us to facilitate a smoother flow of traffic. We would therefore like to increase our pool of volunteers to assist across the road too, which will automatically decrease the pressure in front of the school gate.Attendance is required only once a week from 8am to 8.30am. We would be most grateful for your help.If you agree to volunteer kindly reply to this email with the following details 1. Name of Parent _________________________________________________ 2. Daughter’s name ______________________________ Class ________Sec ______ 3. Preference of day________________________ 4. Contact No. __________________ E mail _______________________
To combat the traffic chaos during arrival and dispersal time of our students, we would like to share with you a unique and safe method of car pooling. This is a social initiative which has the support of Kolkata Police. It is being shared with most leading schools who are facing similar traffic issues. Parents and students who live further away from school like Rajarhat, Salt Lake, Alipore , New Alipore areas would especially benefit from this solution. Please do come for a demonstration on Saturday 4 November, 2017 at 11 am for an hour. Please report to the school reception.
