Bird Walk

Bird Walk

A ‘Bird Walk’ was organised by the CLEAN club on Saturday 10 March in our school garden. Club advisors and members were in school by 5:45 am. A few enthusiastic students including one from the Nursery, also attended the Walk. Some teachers and Mrs Kar too joined the team and greatly motivated the young nature lovers. The walk started at 5:55 am sharp. Mr A Das and Mr A Banerjee, senior and experienced birders of our city facilitated the bird watching session. They guided our students, spotting the birds and identifying their calls as also providing the young learners with a lot of relevant and interesting information. In the next two hours the group sighted 24 different kinds of birds in the school garden and documented their names. The Walk winded up with an interactive session where serious environmental issues were discussed. It was a differently lovely morning which all enjoyed.
