Sports is an intrinsic part of the school. It is not looked upon as an extra-curricular activity. Every student is expected to participate in the fitness programme if not the athletics and sports programmes of the school. The fitness programme includes Yoga, Karate, Calisthenics ‘Dancersise’. Sports and Games include handball, throwball, badminton, table tennis, basketball, soccer, rowing and swimming. The last two are done outside school while competitions and contests are supervised by teachers. Athletics includes runs, throws and jumps.


Basketball

MHS, and not only do we aim to win, but also to inculcate the values of discipline, regularity and team work amongst our players. 
Practices are held at the school basketball court (Ice Skating Rink) daily, with the girls divided into junior (VI – VII) and senior (VIII - XII) groups. 
We encourage the children to participate at the District, State and National levels as well as in Inter- School Competitions. Many of the students have won laurels at the sub-junior, junior and senior levels.

Naomi Mogrelia and Dhriti Dhingra played for South District played at Bardhawan. South District was adjudged Joint winners with Burdwan

  • In the Inter-School at WBBA (LH Tournament), MHS Senior and Junior teams stood first.

  • Avantika Arya Agrawal participated in the ARAE - FEARA Competition held at Chennai for South East Asian countries and she won the Bronze medal for Open Womens Doubles Scull category and in the Coxed Open Final she won the Silver Medal.
  • In the National Rowing Championship Mohana Saha won the Bronze Medal in the Double Scull category

Inter-School

  • In the Bengal Rowing Club Rowing Championship, MHS Seniors stood 3rd and in the Indoor Rowing category MHS stood 2nd.
  • At Lake Club, MHS Juniors came 3rd
  • Shilpi Agarwal who is a teacher at MHS won the Gold Medal in the Maters Category for Indoor Rowing at the ARAE / FEARA - All Asia Meet held at Chennai.

Athletics

Julia Kundu, Dhriti Dhingra, Radhika Roy, Navya Khanna and Shreya Banerjee took part in the ASISC (All India Finals) which was held Hyderabad

Inter-School

  • In the Inter-School Athletic meet held by West Bengal Chapter, MHS Seniors were the Overall Winners.
  • Inter-School Athletic meet held by Debanjan Sen Foundation, MHS were Winners for the 5th year in a row.

Tanya Batlivala represented West Bengal in the 54th National Speed Skating Championship held at Bengaluru in January 2017.

  • Tanaya Parakh who is ranked 8th in India for Girls under 15 reached the Quarter Finals in Tournaments held in Delhi and Mumbai.
  • Tagyaa Parakh played for Girls under 13 reached the Quarter Finals in Tournaments held in Delhi and Mumbai.
