International Regatta (Rowing)

Avantika Arya Agrawal, student of Class XII-D took part in the Quadruple Sculls rowing event at the prestigious International Regatta which was hosted by the Madras Boat Club (MBC), Chennai from 17th July, 2017 to 23rd July, 2017.

She and her crew has secured 1st position gold in the Women's Open category of the Quadruple Sculls event at the First of the International Regatta. Their team beat the team from Colombo in the finals & the team from Sheffield, UK in the semis.

Rowing Championship

Mohana Saha - Class X B and Shramana - ISC 2017 participated in the 20th Sub-junior & 2nd Interstate Challengers Sprint National Rowing Championship, 2017 where they the Gold in the Coxless Women's Fours Event.

Palak Choudhary of Class - VII D, who is a part of Boy's Training Association (BTA) has won the West Bengal Basketball State Championship league 2017 with her team against the Barisha Sporting Club.

Avantika Arya Agrawal

Kolkata-based Avantika Arya Agrawal is one of a small group of women causing ripples in the nascent sport of riverine rowing. This 17-year-old and her youthful team won a silver medal in the women’s coxed fours 1,000 metres race, in a nail biting final against Sri Lanka’s national women’s team at the 75th ARAE (Amateur Rowing Association of the East) 2017 Rowing Regatta held at the vintage Madras Boat Club between January 9-14. This class XI student of Kolkata's highly-ranked Modern High School for Girls also bagged a bronze in the women’s double sculls (1000 m) event.

Jadavpur University Model United Nations

Suhasini Das Gooptu, of class 12 B received the Best Delegate Award at the recently concluded Jadavpur University Model United Nations

6 students of class 12 attended the three day conference that discussed a wide variety of pressing issues including the future of Indian healthcare, climate change, long term effects of demonitisation, Islamic co-operation and the UN’s use of force regimes. The committees that were stimulated included the Lok Sabha, the Indian Special Economic Summit, the UN General Assembly the UN Security Council and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The participants included university, college and school students who poured in from all corners of the country. The executive board included some of the country’s best debaters, MUN veterans and litigators. The students were exposed to the vast MUNing community that is thriving in India and were introduced to the world of diplomacy and international politics while absorbing the importance of consensus building. It was a truly educative and instructive experience as every student learnt the delicate art of diplomacy and the shifting dynamics of a rapidly changing world.
